In Germany, Christkindlmarkt literally translates to "Christ Child Market" — a centuries-old tradition of outdoor markets celebrating the spirit of the season. Christmas wares and gifts are sold in the festival-style setting of Christkindlmarkt. This German tradition began in the 14th century, and Ferdinand, a small, German town in southern Indiana, replicates this tradition for all to enjoy!

Each year, over 10,000 visitors make the trip to Ferdinand for the weekend to experience the German tradition and festive holiday cheer. Free admission, activities and special performances mean the whole family can experience the magic without worry!
